August Books from From My Carolina Home

Once again, it has been a month of good and not-so-much books. These days I am trying to concentrate on ones I’ve been looking for that had good reviews, along with some recently published to keep up with the times. But sometimes a book with good reviews and lots of stars isn’t for me, and I don’t rate it as highly as others. Still, it is someplace to start with all the books available. Time for some reviews of the latest books I’ve been reading. With more time at home, I’m getting more reading done than ever. Several of these are recommended, but three are in the ‘meh’ category. All are affiliate linked to Amazon for you to see the plot synopsis if you would like. For brevity, I have not included that here.

Playful Precut Quilts Book Tour from A Little Bit Biased

One of my quilting besties published her first book!
Amanda Niederhauser recently published Playful Precut Quilts,
a beautiful book that includes 15 projects that each feature 12" blocks -
making it easy to mix and match blocks from different patterns!

There were so many cute patterns in this book but I chose to make Flower Basket.
It's a basic patchwork pattern that uses a unique piecing technique, sewing partial seams.
I had never used that technique before.  I was a little nervous to try it but also wanted to
push myself to learn something new!  And it was actually really ...
