Day Twelve of the Twelve Days of Christmas in July! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's finally arrived - the last day of this year's 12 Days of Christmas in July blog hop!  I hope, like me, you've been wonderfully inspired with great ideas.  Maybe, like me, you've also had a chance to walk down memory lane in your Pinterest or blog feed! I will confess - I even found pictures of an annual quilt I made for Lilli that I had completely forgotten about!

Today we have a chance to hop over to Karrin's blog, Karrin's Crazy World, as she shares some of the gifts she has been ...

Day Three of the Twelve Days of Christmas in July! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

 Hi, all!

My subdivision won't allow us to have chickens, so unfortunately I can't provide three French hens for today's hop!  (But since it's Sunday, maybe I'll go get some fried chicken for lunch... yum!)  Instead, we have a blogpost from my friend Carole over at From My Carolina Home.  Carole's always doing fun things on her blog and I can't wait to see what she's up to.  I know that she's planning something with all this....

...and she'll share it all with you today and next Sunday.  Kind of ...

12 Days of Christmas in July has begun!!! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Good morning, and welcome to the first day of this year's 12 Days of Christmas in July!  There are some exciting things happening here over the next twelve days - a little bit different from past years, because taking a year off (through no choice of my own!) and getting a late start wreaked havoc on getting more bloggers this year - but we have some great bloggers who are participating, and I'll also have some of my own favorite Christmas ideas to share with you.  So strap in and get ready for a little Christmas overload - maybe ...

Really. I use Wonder Clips to hold my binding of course, but also lots of other things like holding a zipper in place ...

Quilt Block Mania - June is Places from The Inquiring Quilter

Welcome to my stop on the Quilt Block Mania Blog Hop. Each of the designers participating in the hop are sharing a block pattern inspired by this month’s theme, which is Places.

I had a hard time with this one I will admit. Should I do London? Paris? Somewhere in Ireland? Finally though I hit on the one place I love to return to as often as I can—the beach!

To learn how to get my free pattern, see How Do I Get the Free Beach Pattern? at the end of this post.

Welcome to my stop on the Quilt Block Mania Blog Hop. Each of the designers participating in the hop are sharing a block pattern inspired by this month’s theme, which is Friendship.

Here is Best Friends!

To learn how to get my free pattern, see How Do I Get the Free Best Friends Pattern? at the end of this post.

I have always loved the classic Friendship Star, so for this month’s block I decided to play with that. To me, the large and small stars represent two friends embracing each other.

Today is My Day - Say What? from Creatin' in the Sticks

Welcome
to the Sticks
and
 the second day of the
"Say What?"
Challenge

Here is my finish:  Today Is My Day

Joan at MooseStashQuilting invited a great group of Bloggers to
create something inspired by something they have to say.
Thanks, Joan, for inviting me!

I listened to a motivational speaker once and he said that we should tell ourselves
every morning that "this is my day".

So when I found this project in the book "Sew Illustrated" by Minki Kim and Kristin Esser
I tweaked it from "This is the Day" to "This is MY Day.

I've been ...

Quilt Block Mania - April is Neighborhood from The Inquiring Quilter

Welcome to my stop on the Quilt Block Mania Blog Hop. Each of the designers participating in the hop are sharing a block pattern inspired by this month’s theme, which is Neighborhood.

Welcome to Funky Town!

When I heard the theme, I immediately thought of curvy, wacky, colorful houses a la Dr. Seuss and I knew I wanted to design a funky town!

Here’s my fabric pull. I started with bright prints with interesting textures, then added some matching solids. To polish everything off, I pulled from my stack of ...

Green Apple Blocks Quilt - Little Green Apples Challenge from Creatin' in the Sticks

Welcome
to the Sticks
and
 the second day of the
"Little Green Apples Challenge"

Here is my finished
Green Apple Blocks Quilt.

Carol at Just Let Me Quilt invited a great group of Bloggers to
create something with green or apple fabric (or a combo of both!)
Thanks, Carol, for inviting me!

I have so many green scraps and I've always wanted to make a
blocks quilt, so this was the perfect chance.
I cut 5 1/2" equilateral triangles out of green fabrics (light, medium, and dark shades)
to design my blocks.
There are actually green apples ...

Quilt Block Mania - March is Floral from The Inquiring Quilter

Welcome to my stop on the Quilt Block Mania Blog Hop. Each of the designers participating in the hop are sharing a block pattern inspired by this month’s theme, which is Floral.

Followers know that my favorite color is purple. So when I heard this month’s theme, I instantly thought I should do a purple flower. And what better purple flower than a violet?

Violets, by the way, were given in the past as a sign of faithfulness and everlasting love. Violets also symbolize remembrance. Wouldn’t this make a great block to remember ...

Contemporary Crazy Border Quilt - Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop from Creatin' in the Sticks

Today is my stop in the

Dust Off a Quilt Book
Blog Hop
Hosted by Bea at Beaquilter.

So, here is my Contemporary Crazy Border Quilt.

The idea for the hop is to find an old quilt book on your shelf and make something from it.

Here is my book:

The Quilting Bible from the Singer Sewing Reference Library
copyright 1997

This book has been sitting in my sewing room because I was intrigued by this project:

I have had this piece of fabric forever.

It was time to use it.

My Contemporary Crazy Border Quilt was fun and totally ...

First off, I am sweet on rainbow quilts.
My favorite color pallet is RAINBOW and rainbow scrappy is even more of a

Quilt Block Mania - February is Connections from The Inquiring Quilter

Welcome to my stop on the Quilt Block Mania Blog Hop. Each of the designers participating in the hop are sharing a block pattern inspired by this month’s theme, which is Connections.

What better connection can you make than one of love? When I heard the theme, I was instantly inspired to create a heart. But not just any heart, a heart in which the connections and interconnections are woven.

Here’s my fabric pull. It’s an old jelly roll from the Blush collection by Basic Grey for Moda. Perfect ...

Shades of Blue in a Sampler from Creatin' in the Sticks

 Welcome
to
the first day of the
Shades of Blue
Sew It Show It Challenge.

I'm happy to kick things off with my
Shades of Blue Sampler Quilt.

Skill builders like sampler quilts are so fun
and
I created this one just to play with some quilt block designs.

9 fat quarters of Kona Solids in shades of blue with some careful cutting,
became
31 quilt blocks and a
54" x 72" throw.

The plan was to offer the pattern now, but I'm planning a sew-along in the future for this one.

So, stay tuned for that.
