Island Batik Log Cabin Challenge and Blog Hop from Sew Preeti Quilts

Me: Have you heard of Door Dash?
Paul: Yes.
Me: Now meet Dashing Doors!

Dashing Doors

Dashing Doors is my response to the Island Batik's Log Cabin Challenge and Blog Hop that begins today.  My pun on Door Dash got a huge eye roll from Paul :-)

I received a half-yard bundle of Breezy Collection.  Purples, Greens, Coral and Pink make this a lovely collection.

Breezy Bundle

An original collection by Kate Colleran Designs, Breezy is a bright collection with a beautiful gradation of values and I wanted to show off that aspect of the collection.

Light to Dark!

secret stitching sweetheart blog hop 2024 from Count it *all* JOY!

Happy St. Valentine's Day!

This post is all about the L O V E!  Jo, from Serendipitous Stitching, hosts the Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop every year, and it's such good fun, I couldn't resist.

Here's how it works: all of the participants send Jo a photo of stitched Valentine . . . and then once she's collected them all, she mixes them all up and sends you someone else's Valentine to post ... and that's your Secret Stitching Sweetheart! Doesn't that sound like fun?! Here's the Valentine from my Secret Stitching Sweetheart:

Island Batik Log Cabin Blog Hop from Quilted Delights

I am excited to show off my Lone Star Log Cabin Quilt!  Using the Island Batik Flutter Wings fabric line by Kathy Engle

This month Island Batik Ambassadors were asked to play with Log Cabin blocks to help show off the new Island Batik fabric collections hitting stores now!

Flutter Wings is right up my alley, bright and full of dragonflies, birds, and butterflies.
The colors all blend so well together and make fantastic log cabin blocks.

I was also excited to get this new Oliso Iron in my January Ambassador box.  The TG1600ProPlus.  My old iron was hanging together ...

Quilt Reveal: Rabbit's Reverie from High Road Quilter

It's my day for the Just Let Me Quilt blog hop challenge. The theme for the week is White Rabbit.

The challenge was:

Make something with white fabrics, rabbits, or white rabbits.

It is a perfect theme, because I was just gifted a pair of embroidered white pants.  I had seen a couple of quilts that were animal shapes that were cut out of some embroidered work with batting inside them. I thought about doing just that and having a quilt that was not a rectangle, but I still had house on my mind and wanted to make sure ...

White Rabbit Blog Hop Challenge from High Road Quilter

The White Rabbit Blog Hop Challenge starts today. Here is a list of the participants. Enjoy the hop, and come back on Thursday! My quilt is ready and waiting!

Challenge:

Make something with white fabrics, rabbits, or white rabbits.

There is a tradition for people to say “white rabbit” first thing in the morning (have you
ever heard of this?) The phrase is supposed to bring good luck for the rest of the month
Even President Roosevelt did this!

I hadn't heard of it, but I had heard that people say Rabbit Rabbit on the first of each month ...

Vintage Christmas Tablescape from From My Carolina Home

Setting a festive table early in the month for everyday use brings more cheer to meals in December. I’ve been collecting these dishes for some time now, finding a mug here, and a bowl there. I’ve added three serving pieces found online, but there is no room for them on the pub table we use for everyday meals. There is barely enough for the large place settings, but it is so much fun to use the dishes as much as possible this month.

The set is called Vintage Christmas designed by Susan Winget. I just love her designs ...

Welcome, welcome to the first post of the annual Online Advent Calendar, hosted by Jo at Serendipitous Stitching! Each day she'll update the source post to reveal the day's guest poster!  It's loads of fun and a wonderful way to count down to Christmas, stitchingly!  Every year, Jo chooses a theme—this year it's Santas—and asks her bloggers to share a theme-related tidbit, and a Christmas stitching! And this year, I'm very honored to ...

Turkey Time Tablescape from From My Carolina Home

It’s turkey time! My favorite day of the year is Thanksgiving. I love the food, the holiday spirit, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the football, making calls to friends, and all the anticipation of the holidays to come. Central to our celebration is a good meal, served with gratitude for all we have. Setting a beautiful festive table is part of the fun. This year, my Turkey Time Tablescape has 24 turkeys!

During my annual October event, Autumn Jubilee, we made some fun placemats using a fabric that featured large turkeys. See that post on Turkey Talk Placemats ...

More Fishies ~ Just Two Charm Pack Quilts Blog Hop from Liz Makes Crafts

I've been a lot less active in the quilting community over the last few years, choosing to let quilting become just a hobby for myself, and instead focusing most of my attention and efforts on other endeavors. However, when Cheryl Brickey asked me to participate in a blog hop to promote her latest book, Just Two Charm Pack Quilts, I was excited to do it.

I've made a lot of Cheryl's patterns over the years so I knew it was going to be a good time. Her patterns are always clear, well-written, and the end results are ...

Just 2 Charm Pack Quilts Blog Hop: String lights from Life In Pieces

If you've followed, or even just checked in occasionally with my blog over the years, there is a good chance you've seen one of Cheryl Brickey's (Meadow Mist Designs) mystery quilt along projects in progress. It's one of the projects I look forward to each year.  So when Cheryl asked if anyone was willing to make a quilt from her new book Just 2 Charm Pack Quilts, I really wanted to participate.

The first decision was choosing which quilt to make.  There are some really fun quilts in this book.  I'm not the quickest at ...
