Spring, Sprang, Sprung from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends, and happy Hump Day. It's an unexpectedly pretty day here. The sun is shining, but I expect it will stay cool for much of the day. Mike is heading out this afternoon for an outdoor activity, and I know he'll enjoy a sunny and dry day.

It was kind of a busy day yesterday. I hadn't finished girding up my loins for a trip to the grocery store, but there were too many things we needed. After writing yesterday's post, I went straight to work creating a list, and then we headed ...

Good News, Bad News from Cat Patches

It was a busy day yesterday. Mans were coming in and out, in and out, all day long, much to the consternation of Miss Sadie. She spent most of the day in my office, hiding under Eliza's table. My next quilt to be quilted is draped over the chair there, which makes a handy fort for saving oneself from certain murder by strange Mans.

And then to add insult to injury...after the Mans left for the last time, I grabbed her up and applied flea treatment to her neck. I'm telling you the horrors never cease here ...

Out of Order from Cat Patches

My morning routine generally begins around 5:00 a.m. Mike and I are fairly early to bed...old people that we are. And then I'm generally up pretty early. When I was a teenager, I could easily sleep until noon, but now my body starts telling me it's time to get up and move those creaky joints. So, I get my coffee, check in on Facebook, play my word games, read my email, and write my blog post. By then, Mike is usually up, and so I make breakfast, and then do my slow stitching. And now ...

Purrfect Start from ... Cat Patches

There were Mans here yesterday, and kitties do not like invaders into their purrsonal space. They couldn't even show their faces until the Mans left for lunch. Then, they ventured out purrudently mindful of anything that looked out of place. Despurrate times call for good friends to stick together.

Nothing much happens around here until I get in my morning slow-stitching. Mans, or no mans, I will not be deterred from each morning's mission. Yesterday's was to finish off this section. The three English daisies were already stitched, but I needed to finish off the "scroll work ...

More Progress on Spring from ... Cat Patches

You might think I'm controlling the weather with that title, but I'm not. If it were up to me, it would be a lot warmer. We had sunshine yesterday, but still frigid temperatures. Nevertheless, I saw the first Rufous hummingbird of the season. We have Anna's hummers year-round, but the Rufous are only around in spring and summer, and then they start heading south in the fall.

This guy was not at all happy about the cold temperature.

I went out for a little walk around. It's still too cold to see many blooming things, but ...

A Run-around Day from Cat Patches

There was enough time yesterday morning for me to get in a good round of stitching on the Heartland Barns piece. I finished stitching most of the tree.

It was time to get ready to leave when I had it that far, but I took time to move my hoop a little lower to capture the rest of the leaves on the ground. I'll start stitching those today.

When I had it that far, it was time to get ready to leave for my first physical therapy appointment. It went pretty well...not too painful. My therapist, Matt, sent ...
