Not impressed with the border. Note to self … change it! Love the design inside the borders though.
Much better border on the second design, and the space inside the border is OK too.

Challenged my self to start some project files with rectangular designs rather than squares.
I wanted to tidy up the collection of blocks too, and make sure they are accurate. Some of these blocks date from EQ5, when I was very much a learner.
I think these are a bit too wide or a bit short for a single bed, maybe they would be OK for a king single.

I am wondering if I would applique or piece the curves, and if applique, hand or machine.
I would hand applique the fine lines, so I guess I would do the same for the heavy ones.

Fiddling!
More fiddling, and now I have a new block in this project file to fiddle with. I was going to use it in this design but it didn’t really look right.

The narrow borders make this a very interesting design.
Narrow sashing is also interesting, but i like the first design better.
Oops! These are the designs which should have appeared yesterday. If you are a regular visitor you may have thought you had seen the designs published yesterday before, and you would have been right … they appeared just over a week ago.

Very interesting, and I can imagine this as floor tiles in a large foyer! It would also look nice on a bed.
Nice on a bed, but also on a wall.

The quilting motifs look very regimental in layout, thankfully softened by the applique.
I like the second design.
Oops! Quilting motif in one corner didn’t get rotated!
read moreVery dainty.
More blocks, lots of detail, and I think this design is one which will remain forever virtual.

Interesting
Love the second one. Love the colours, love the blocks, love the border, but the border is perhaps too wide in comparison to the blocks.

The plan for today is to do everything I can to make our Christmas Day a good one.
Our day will be spent with a small part of my family, including the youngest great niece, and is part of the build up to a larger gathering at home on New Years Day.
I wish all of you a very merry Christmas, and hope your day is a great one.

Love a little bit of ginger in my day!
Not too much, just enough to spice things up a little bit!

Very neat and tidy.
I love stringing beads together to make jewelry, but it is more fun string them together to drape around trees, and sometimes I string them on fine wire so they will hold their shape if I twist them into hearts or circles or stars.

Very formal, but also cheerful for Christmas
A little bit more colour and it is more cheerful!

Very interesting, but very busy.
However, if this was turned into a real quilt I would use a quilting thread the same colour as the background to add texture, rather than teh lines seen in the illustration, so it wouldn’t look near as busy.
Love the second design. Very interesting, but nowhere near as busy as the first design

From now until Christmas day you will get a double dose of virtual quilt designs. Hope you enjoy seeing them, and have a wonderful real life Christmas.
Love the second design too, but I think the first one id my favourite of these two.
read moreInteresting design for any time of the year.
The second design also good for anytime, though I would change the colours to spring colours.
