Amazing Antique Coverlets from Humble Quilts

This post is a repost from 2010 Humble Quilts. These amazing coverlets were part of the Latimar Quilt and Textile Center in Tillamook, Oregon.

These  are more intricate than I have usually seen.

This one really blew my socks off!!

I hope you all are doing great!

From clutter to treasure! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thanks again for the comments -- I MUST answer them individually! There is NO customer quilt today. By the time I got home, I decided I had some wiggle room in my calendar and could push off one of the quilts on the list. Actually, only TWO more need to be done before I leave on Monday, and I have three days.

I was going to start the quilt in the morning but decided that paperwork was more important. And for some reason, I was digging through the crap on the second desk in my office, and guess what? I found ...

Crystal Clear from From the Strawberry Patch...

About once I year I have no choice but to empty out the glass front cabinets, fill the kitchen sink with hot, soapy water and hand wash (and dry) all the crystal and glass until it sparkles brightly again. It takes me the better part of a day. Although it's tedious, I'm always delighted to be reacquainted with glassware that reminds of special people, times and places. For example: this decanter

Antiques from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Do you have days when you feel like an antique? It happens to me from time to time, but thankfully very rarely!

I don't often visit antique shops as I never seem to find anything, so what's the point? Last week, I had a chance to pop into one for a few minutes, and I thought, "why not?" Well, I managed to pick up some old photographs for 50 cents each, which is rare in antique shops. BUT I also found a treasure, so I think the timing was meant to be.

Pretty much the first thing I ...

A day off from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- I don't take many days off from sewing, but well - this weekend was just too beautiful to pass up. We get so few glorious days, and I wanted to be outside. So, I sure didn't get much done in the sewing department, and I'm OK with that.

I did go for a 50K bike ride. It was a bit cool. I always start my trip by going to the end of my street to test the clothing and the equipment. I stopped when I passed by the house to get a vest. I hate being cold ...

Pin It Weekly #303 from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Hey Pinners! Let's meet new followers:
Barbara Wilson has a board called "color palettes" that proved to be interesting.

●••°‿✿⁀Crystals‿✿⁀°••● ~~~The emotional and psychological meaning of colors

escape tones

Classic - I like this for a home setting especially, but would be pretty for winter or fall nature in Austin as well. I'd pick the three colors to the left!

Color combination, color pallets, color palettes, color scheme, color inspiration.

Marcin Piesocki's board "Polubione," which means your likes, has pins of some of the most beautiful antiques, architectural examples, and machines.

Sandra Gentry  has 64 pins on rug hooking, something I don't think I've ever passed along to you, so here you are.
