Quilt météo, point d’étape from Atelier de Cocopatch

Moon Dance ~ Ready to Quilt from Liz Makes Crafts

All quilts are special. But some quilts are more special than others.

I still remember the first time I saw Moon Dance by Sew Kind of Wonderful. It was during QuiltCon 2018 in the booth of You + Me for Hoffman Fabrics. I stared at it for a good while, completely in awe.

When the pattern was released a few months later, I bought it immediately. But I sat on it for 2 years. I wanted to make sure that I had the right fabric, the right skills, was in the right mood, everything. As usual, fabric is where I tend ...

My First Quiltcon from Sew Preeti Quilts

I was going to write a short description with a few pictures from Quiltcon. Or so I thought.
But Quiltcon exceeded all my expectations and it therefore deserves a full post of its own.

Sunday at Quiltcon

I dropped off the completed flimsies at the collection point next to registration.  The blocks were overflowing from the table, when I handed her my contribution.
Woman 1 - How are they going to take everything back?
Woman 2 - It is a good problem to have.

I silently wished there wasn't a need for these blocks/quilts.

Let the eye candy begin.  I ...

Marriage Retreat from Mama Spark's World

This past weekend my husband and I went on a marriage retreat offered through our church.   We went with another couple that are members at our church and friends.   We had so much fun!   I can not remember the last time we laughed as much as we did this weekend.   I don't think I have ever seen my spouse talk as much as he did with our friends this weekend.   We took our truck and our

Rosewood Lane Quilt Pattern Update! from Busy Hands Quilts

It's Rosewood Lane's turn for an update!  Last year most of my pattern covers were updated, some patterns were also overhauled inside, and I'm down to the last few needing updated.  Now there are only three pattern covers awaiting updating - Home Awaits, Picket Fence, and Falling Stars.

Joyce of Liberty Green Quilt Shop in Akron, Ohio has been a consistent wholesale customer of my quilt patterns.  She requested printed copies of Rosewood Lane after seeing the Rosewood Lane in Anna Maria Horner fabrics that sold in my quilt shop last year and requested an AMH quilt for ...

Kangaroo & Joey2 from Sew Fresh Quilts

Kangaroo & Joey2 is my first finish for 2020!!!

Have you ever seen a kangaroo in the show?

Most of the fabrics used to make these adorable mama and baby kangaroos were from the Sun Print 2019 collection by Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics

And then when it came time for the backing....
I switched it up!

I normally look for a full width print and then add a half width piece of something to make backings larger than a baby quilt. But when I came across this half width piece of large floral print, I quickly dove into my stash ...

Quilt météo from Atelier de Cocopatch

Fat Quarter Friendly Modern Christmas Quilt Perfect for Using Up Holiday Scraps! Ribbon Candy from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

For our fourth make of Christmas we are replaying our tutorial for Ribbon Candy, a modern, fat quarter friendly holiday quilt that is perfect for using up all your extra Christmas fabric or that holiday fat quarter bundle you just had to have.

About half of the quilt is strip pieced so it goes quickly, it really shows off large prints well and a neutral strip between every fabric means you can pack a lot of fabrics in while still giving the eye a place to rest.

Ribbon Candy was originally designed as part of the Stashin’ with Stephanie Club ...

Bridges from Liz Makes Crafts

Bridges is a pattern by Anne Sullivan that appeared in Modern Monthly of the Modern Quilt Guild 2 years ago. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make it, even though at the time my curve piecing skills were non-existent. Now that I'm a little better at it, I can finally take a crack at this!

I used the fabric collection Diving Board by Alison Glass, which I thought was very fitting given the theme. The pattern is for a wallhanging size, so I expanded it to be a throw sized quilt.

When picking quilting ...
