*** My Blocks *** 

These were both super fun blocks from the Perfect 5 book!  On the left is the Fortune Cookie that uses 5 charm packs for the quilt. The block on the right is the Frosted cookie using 4 charm packs, i really want to make this one! Remember a Layer cake is 4 charm packs if you have one of those.

This is MY week on the tour and my block is the smaller Snickerdoodle #11 which is also the cover of the book! Here are my sampler blocks, the large one is the Spritz cookie and it's SO fun to make,it's definitely on my list to make a full quilt with it!

Have you ever made just one block from a pattern to see how you like it?  That is what I'm doing with the Perfect 5 book. The Fat Quarter shop has a whole sampler you can make, I'm going to do a smaller version as I'm making just one of each of the 16 quilts.. so far I have 2 favorites that I will be making full quilts from. 

• The little block is .. drum roll... Chocolate Chip!
• Larger block is, of course, Oatmeal Raisin, which is another family favorite ...

I'm making one of each block from the bonus sampler that goes along with the Perfect 5 book.  The sampler sheet & photo are at the end. 

So as I'm making this weeks blocks I realized that I was thinking about how they are constructed. I was analyzing if this block was 'fun' to make, because if it was fun then I'll go back and use it for a full quilt. 

• Top block is Sugar Cookies.. and I REALLY love it! this layout is like the full quilt in the ...

*** Coming Oct 9 to Dec 4- Perfect 5 Sew Along *** 

The 'Perfect 5' is a wonderful new book with 16 quilt patterns that use charm packs... thus the '5'!  Charm packs are 5" squares. 

The book has

• All the quilts named a cookie, you had me at this one!
• 4 quilt patterns using just 1 charm pack... perfect right? For that 'one pack' you bought. 
• 4 that use 2 packs - this is the same as a jolly bar
• 4 using 3 charm packs
• and 4 quilt patterns using 4 charm packs, which is the same as a layer cake!

My status for last week... Pat 0 --- Binding  852 ... 

So once again... with feeling... I will vow to bind some quilts.

• And maybe a 3rd one, although based on my track record if I get 2 done I'll be thrilled!

Have you done better than me with UFOs?? 

I want to hang Witch's Night Out and change to fall quilts in my living room.. wish me luck..its only Oct 4.. I gotta get it done!
