Julie's tops from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday, quilters! Some bright and beautiful quilts to show this week courtesy of Julie.

These have been on my shelf for way too long, but I got them finished as part of my recent quilting spree,

I quilted all of these with a simple stipple. I just love the colors and fabrics, Julie must have such a fun fabric stash!

I've decided recently that no more than 60" in the shorter is a good limit of what I can comfortably quilt on my midarm machine. I can definitely do more, but I feel like I can really buzz ...

The colours in this project file are very fresh … caused by the green which looks like the weeds which come up in my garden after a good rain.

I love the second design!

Done and Delivered and NTT from My Quilt Infatuation

Hey there, ya'll.  First of all, I want to thank all of you who reached out about my mom.  Her surgery went very well and so far, her recovery has been smooth.  She will definitely have to have radiation, and at this point, we are still waiting for the full pathology to determine whether she will have to have chemo as well.  But her prognosis is still good, and we're holding onto that.  I'm so glad I was able to be there all last week to help out.

As planned, I finished up this Ole Miss quilt ...

Linus Blanket from Humble Quilts

The last time hubby asked me to repair his winter “blanket” it was easier for me to cut it down and rebind. I figured eventually I’d trim it so much it would end up be a small square! Haha
He’s been asking me again to repair some shredded areas.

I can't keep cutting it so I patched it!

I only patched the worst areas. He is a happy camper!

That's the extent of my quilting this ...

A Finish and a Start from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. As I peered out the window just now, I noticed blue sky and a slight breeze. It rained hard for pretty much the whole live-long day yesterday. We got a piece of Seattle's "bomb cyclone." And, as I've already said, I think the weather people are just making stuff up now. Today I'll get outside to fill the birdfeeders for a few minutes at least. Also, I'll take a walk on the treadmill, but then it will be sewing, sewing, and more sewing.

The "Mosaic" piece is finished now. Here's your ...

Mid week from South Jersey Quilter

The weeks are flying by! Maybe because we're older?

I finished the 3rd of the Chronicles of the One Trilogy. So good! The magickal battle between light and dark, complete with dragons! Now I need a fluffy read.

I got Steph and Dan's coffee themed table runner top sewed together, and it's pinned to the backing and batting.

With the leftover squares, I made a smaller one.

Rooted around and found the perfect backing fabric for them! I have no memory of buying this, but there's a couple of yards.

Today we have our monthly lunch ...

When We Quilt - from Quiltville's Quips & Snips!

I didn't sew yet.

Not by machine yet.

And I've been home for over a week.

NO......that's not really true, because I did have to make some units and take photos of some units while writing up future mystery post releases, but that wasn't really piecing on something coming together.

It was just pieces and parts and step-out photos to go along with computer drawn graphics.

All the while this has been laying out on my "design floor" just waiting for me to get back to it.

November Studio Organizing from Prairie Moon Quilts

Is all your stray fabric put away from the last challenge? I have to say that mine is not, but I did make some progress. I simply haven’t had time to really work on it, even tho I try to take a few minutes every day for it. Evidently, a few minutes a day is not getting me very far very fast, so at some point, I’m gonna have to take some dedicated time to really make any visible progress.

But it’s on to the next thing already!

As we gear up for the holiday season, lots ...

This is Elle's blog too! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

LOL—I'll have to get Elle to write a list of her suggestions and post them on the blog! She's almost as popular as I am! Maybe we should ask her questions. Perhaps we can get her to give us her TOP TEN decluttering tips!

I have two questions. By the way, she worked full-time in the medical field for many years, so she wasn't sitting at home figuring out what to declutter next.

  1. Did she ever have clutter? And what about her SO?
  2. If so, when did the lightbulb go off for her?

As for the ...

MH 1860 Progress from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I think I already said that my plan when I started this was just to try Vickie Clayton’s linen, stitch a bit, then go back to Love is the Key and finish it but once I got started with MH 1860, I decided . . why leave another WIP not finished so I stuck with...

Threads from the Heartland from Becca's Crazy Projects

Do you remember the Quilt Block of the Month kits that Joann Fabrics had (20 years ago)? Well, it seems I had one partially pieced hanging out in my boxes and boxes of fabrics. I decided it was more than time to get it pieced. I still have a border to add. It's nice to finish things. This one was Threads from the Heartland. I must have been unable to find all of the blocks because there are some duplicates.

{I've Been Reading} You Feta Watch Out from Michelle's Romantic Tangle

You Feta Watch Out by Linda Reilly

The latest grilled cheese mystery has a recipe for grilled cheese fruitcake and I'm almost tempted to try it if some fruitcake finds its way to our house this holiday season. At a dress rehearsal of A Christmas Carol, one of the actors is found dead with Marley's heavy chains wrapped around his throat. The evidence points to Carly's best friend, but plenty of people could have wanted the unpleasant man dead. This is always a fun series, with lots of tasy sounding food and an entertaining group of characters ...

Wednesday Wait Loss 407 from The Inquiring Quilter

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss!

WWL is a place where you can share photos of quilts you’re working on and get encouragement to finish them from our Wednesday Wait Loss group! As you can see, I’ve been doing this for years (over 400 weeks!) and so our group is strong, loves to share, and is very welcoming.

Here’s how it works. Every week I start out by sharing what I’ve been working on. Then I share the projects from the previous week that most inspired me so that they will inspire you too! This is followed ...

15 of 60 blocks................ from Exuberant Color

Last night I sewed all of the rest of the quarter square triangle blocks that I had ready.  This is one of each of four blocks alike.  They are only 6" blocks so 60 blocks would only make a quilt 36" x 60".

I pressed all 60 blocks.

I had a bag of odds and ends of floral fabrics so I went through it and pulled several that are big enough to cut the quarter square triangles.  All of these are pressed now so I can do some cutting today.

I have been showing photos of the cacti by the ...

WIP Wednesday - woven star from Just Sew Sue

I have been gently sewing some of these foundation paper pieced blocks using a Ruby Star Society fat quarter bundle. I won the 6" and 4" paper pads at a recent Modern Quilt Club retreat and it's the perfect project for when you have 20 minutes to spare.

My first block was matching quadrants, not very scrappy.

My second block is woven with four different fabrics. There were eight different fabrics in the first block.

Finally, I went totally scrappy and cut 2.5" strips from each fat quarter. These are the first project for this weekend's Jersey ...
