Tidy up time in Studio B from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We're back!! DH and I both read the story in the graphic novel EXIT Game. Then we collaborated, and between the two of us, we got the answer! Not before I goofed AGAIN and missed a bunch of letters, so we had to redo the puzzle multiple times. Although DH insists we found the answer unconventionally, I don't care! We solved it without using the clues. He's so black and white; I'm every shade in between!

Teamwork! It's all about teamwork!

Should I mention what happened to the kitchen table? This happens when you use ...

More USPS Package Routes from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I’m not complaining. I think this is sad but funny. Here are some recent examples of packages headed here: The one above went from Kansas City to Springfield to Kansas City to Springfield. Still has not arrived here. I don’t even remember where this package was coming from but it went to St. Louis, which...

More decluttering from My Sewing Room

There was absolutely no sewing happening yesterday, but I did a LOT of spring cleaning of a closet.  And I spent 2 hours in the afternoon shredding more old paperwork.

There is a large box of extra bedding from the top shelf of the master bedroom closet.  There is a big shopping bag of shoes and belts, another smaller bag of clothing.  And a small bag full of ugly costume jewelry and craft supplies, such as sea glass, ribbon, and marbles.  This whole stack will be going to donation.

There are a few more items headed to my daughter's ...

Just playing................... from Exuberant Color

Yesterday was the first day this week without strong wind so I went grocery shopping and filled my gas tank.

When I got to the sewing machine I continued sewing triangle squares and then decided to play with some of the parts in the box.  If I decide to sew this block I need to start sewing more hourglass blocks.  I have a couple more ideas to try too.

This is one of the racks in the basement that I can see now that the excess design walls are gone.  On top is interfacing and fusible fleece, next shelf down ...

Half-Square Triangle Baby Quilts from A Little Bit Biased

Hi friends!  Today, I have two more really simple baby quilts that I want to share with you!  Last week I shared a simple patchwork quilt.  And this week, I have two Half-Square Triangle quilts that I recently gifted to two new mommas in my neighborhood.  Both had baby girls!  It's such a joy to spread the {quilty} love!

(Sidenote: I finished all 3 of these quilts a few months ago and I'm just now getting around to blogging about them.  Just wanted you to know that I didn't whip all of them up this past week ...

Fun Day Of Beading And Appointments from Quilting My Way

This morning, I wanted to work on the ornament before heading out to Olympia for my doctor's appointment. I was able to get some done and ended up with half of it already done.

Just so credit is due to the one who made this pattern, I posted the ornament name and who designed it. I got it from etsy. So, if you like it enough, you can order it.

We left with this much done. I do like the way it's coming together, just not sure yet if it will turn out. I'm always waiting to ...

Tuesday in the Kitchen from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I know – today is Wednesday . . and it’s getting late on Wednesday but yesterday, there was no stopping spot once I got started. Vince had been asking for Migas for breakfast so that’s what we had for breakfast Tuesday morning. Of course, they aren’t HARD to make but there’s a lot of chopping...

Keep the Home Fires Burning - A Finish from Grandma's Red Needle

I reached my goal for March!
(I'm late in posting my finishes)

'Keep the Home Fires Burning' is FINISHED

This quilt was started when I had a squirrel moment in February 2024, and also a result of the RSC - Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2024

In December 2024 I made a pieced backing, using up more bits & pieces of fabrics I know I'd never use for anything else. I got two leftover blocks I added to the back.

Deciding on a quilting design is always a challenge. I do all quilting on my domestic sewing machine; Bernina 440 QE. The ...

Sewing and shopping day from Northern Deb Quilts

I’ve been sick for the last few days with a spring cold but today I felt much better. I decided to do a little sewing this morning and then a bit more this afternoon. I was able to get 10 thrift blocks finished for the #scrappymeetsthriftchallenge

So then after sewing a bit, Al and I decided to hit a few of my favorite thrift shops. My favorite place usually has fabric and on Wednesdays they mark everything 1/2 off!
So I bought some quilt magazines, fabric and patterns.

This magazine had a pattern that I’ve been wanting ...

String of Beads 19, 20 from Virtual Quilter

The leaf shape of the beads has to be one of the most versatile shapes available for us to use on applique blocks. There must be many millions of possible designs … I should count how many I have drawn up but I am pretty sure I could expand the number by lots if I stop designing quilts with what I already have.

The second design uses the same layout as the first, just the blocks have changes.

What I've Been Up to These last Four Months from The Quilting Reader's Garden

Where does the time go? What with caregiving my mom, and trying to fit 7 days into 5, I find myself always on the go. And at 79, yes, 79 I find myself more stressed than normal. But I've tried to keep up with quilting even if I only do 15 minutes a day. Not that I get 15 in every day, but I do average about 4 a week. So, what have I been up to? I'll get my photos on my cell and

Thrifty Day from Jo's Country Junction

On my way home from The Stitchery Nook, I stopped at thrift stores. I bought two old quilting books at the first store… I think my total was 75 cents. I love looking at old quilt books. They are often inspirational to me. At the second store, I found some Usborne books and other educational …
