Hey there, my friends! Despite the fact that it is going to be 28 degrees tonight (boo!), I'm going to wish you a happy almost spring! Here, it has been positively spring-like for the past few weeks. Some rain for sure, but mostly tons of sunshine and soft, warm breezes. In fact, after this temperature drop tonight, we'll be right back in the 60's tomorrow. Spring is such a source of inspiration for me, and I just love ogling all of the gorgeous collections. So, let's check out the latest spring things from my favorite shops ...

It’s been a very productive Monday, and I’ll post more about that later, but first…this quilt was started 15 years ago and it is getting finished TONIGHT!! Oh my gosh, finally!
read moreHaving Oscar and Cooper together can be like having two out of control children together. I feed them in the morning and again at 5 p.m. By 4 p.m., they’re apparently hungry. Oscar gets much more grouchy and Cooper seems to get much more – just out of control. Other times during the day, Cooper...

I started this project file with the intention of using blocks from the Electric Quilt Library without making any modifications. Up until this design I stuck to my original intention, but now things have started to change.
In the second design I have blacked out 4 squares in four blocks, and from now on I will be making changes!

March’s meeting had a ton of lovely quilts to share.
Jody kicked off our show and tell with her “Plaid-ish” quilt - pieced to appear plaid. Very nice finish!
Laurie wowed us with her variation on double wedding ring quilt and even had great backing fabric to go with the colorful design.
While I was off with my cancer treatment, the rescue stayed busy. It was so busy that being I wasn’t in the thick of things, I couldn’t keep track of the incoming and outgoing of dogs. It was crazy I know and I felt bad that I couldn’t help. I did help with a couple …
read moreFor the past several years, I have designed a quilt - either a mystery quilt, or a quilt along/block of the month - for a couple of guilds I belong to. This year's quilt-along was a bit challenging. Usually I use EQ8 for designing, but it doesn't play nicely with non-standard settings, and this one was definitely non-standard. So I reverted to the trust pencil and graph paper to sketch it out. And I enlisted the help of a pattern tester to make sure it was correct, and achievable.
This one is called "A Wing and a Prayer", because ...

These were much larger,

Seems as though Trump might be wearing even more orange in the near future. It is currently reported that he cannot make his bond in the NY fraud case. He approached thirty insurance brokers to secure the bond for the $400+ million dollar fine, telling them they could use his real estate as collateral but that would mean they would be responsible for the properties. That is not a deal anyone wants to touch.
Where will he go next? Inquiring minds want to know.
Chortling ensues.
A Friday Finish, for the first time in ages!
The girls in the Hive have been busy. We previously made the original Scrappy Celebration, then the second version in brighter colors, then the patriotic version. We weren't tired of making blocks yet, so we moved on to black and black-alternative blocks with bright batiks. We made too many blocks for one quilt so we split them up into Cool colors and Warm colors.
The top with the cool colors is finished. Several of us worked on the layout on the design wall in PCQ's quilting room, with lots ...
read moreI'm late posting this morning. I had an early morning doctor's appointment to go over the MRI results on my knee. When I mess myself up, apparently I don't do anything in halves. Both meniscus in my right knee are torn. So that will mean surgery, probably later this spring. We'll see how long I'm out of the sewing room when we get to that. For now, I'll keep working to finish off a few projects before I end up on restrictions.
This weekend was a mixed bag on the stitching front. I did ...

I spent Funday-Sunday cleaning up the mess I generated with my sewing frenzy, and made some simple blocks for a gift quilt. I'll work on that quilt when I can, but need to get back to the customer stuff.
